2:37 p.m. --Brian Daboll said cornerback TJ Moore (leg) will have surgery Friday or Saturday. He was still in the hospital at the time the head coach spoke to the media Friday afternoon. The undrafted rookie suffered the injury late in Thursday night's preseason finale and was carted off the field while surrounded by the team. Earlier in the game, Moore returned an interception 44 yards for a touchdown, putting the Giants ahead 35-10 with less than a minute left in the third quarter.
1:28 p.m. --The Giants released the following eight players ahead of Tuesday's 53-man roster deadline:
- WR Jordan Bly
- ILB K.J. Cloyd
- CB O'Donnell Fortune
- ILB Dyontae Johnson
- C Jimmy Morrissey
- WR Zach Pascal
- WR Montrell Washington
- OL Jaison Williams
The moves came the morning after the Giants wrapped up the preseason with a 42-10 victory over the Patriots. NFL clubs must reduce their active roster to 53 players by 4 p.m. ET on Tuesday, paring it down from the current limit of 90.
The claiming period for players placed on waivers at the final roster reduction will expire at noon the following day. The Giants are third in the claiming order on the waiver wire. After that, clubs may establish a practice squad of 17 players, as long as one player qualifies as international.
