If Jim Harbaugh has said it once, he's said it a hundred times: Offensive linemen are offensive weapons. The decision to select Joe Alt early last year paid immediate dividends, and though the Chargers could justify a few other spots here, "Harbaugh ball" goes nowhere without a great front. Zabel is a true five-position prospect along the line.

It's well known how much head coach Jim Harbaugh loves to run the ball, so it's hard to imagine he won't spend a premium pick on a running back in an excellent class.

Hampton has an ideal size/speed combination for the position and trailed only Ashton Jeanty in rushing yards (3,160) and yards after contact (2,294) over the past two seasons.

Los Angeles Chargers head coach Jim Harbaugh once called Michigan tight end Colston Loveland the Wolverines' version of Travis Kelce. His squad needs receiving help... Loveland accounted for 34.7% of Michigan's team receiving yards last season, the highest among Power Four tight ends. The Chargers continue beefing up their offensive ecosystem around QB Justin Herbert here.

Head coach Jim Harbaugh has no problem going back to his Michigan roots for good football players. Loveland certainly fits the bill.

Grey Zabel has the positional flexibility to play offensive guard or center. Los Angeles needs the guard in the short term and potentially the center in the long term.

The Chargers have to get younger at this position and Green could benefit from learning behind a few veterans before being handed the starting role.

For all of the focus on Harbaugh's offense and what it needs to take the next step, the Chargers have massive needs in the front seven that should not be overlooked.

Green has been a mover on the draft board after a final college season with 17 sacks (best in the country) and 51 pressures (tied for sixth). He's an explosive athlete who offers very good length and quickness as a pass rusher, filling an immediate need for Jim Harbaugh's defense.

How about this? Loveland reunites with Jim Harbaugh in Los Angeles to become the preferred seam-stretching target for Justin Herbert.

A 220-pound ground-and-pounder with burst who can make an impact for Jim Harbaugh whether J.K. Dobbins returns or not.

Head coach Jim Harbaugh needs to add a young, physical back to a Greg Roman offense still built on running the football. At 6-foot and 221 pounds, Hampton packs a punch and can also contribute as a pass-catcher.

Kyle Dvorchak,NBC SportsWR Matthew Golden, Texas

Last updated: March 4, 2025

Golden was expected to blaze at the combine and didn't disappoint with a 4.29 40-yard dash. It was the only test he did and the only one he needed to do. Golden was a fringe first-rounder before Indy and has all but locked up his Day 1 pedigree. With Ladd McConkey dominating targets from the slot, Golden who played outside receiver at Texas can threaten defenses from the boundary in LA.
