Justin Fields' 13-yard touchdown run puts New York up early

GREEN BAY Justin Fields scrambled for a 13-yard touchdown to put the New York Jets up 7-0 over the Packers after the first quarter.

The Packers won the coin toss and elected to receive.Jordan Loveand most of the Packers' starting offense suited up.

The Packers' quarterback drew Jay Tufele offside on first down, but Green Bay went three-and-out after two incompletions intended forRomeo Doubs.

Daniel Whelanpinned New York back at its 21 after a 63-yard punt with a 52-yard net. During the Jets' opening possession, Packers safetyZayne Andersonexited after lowering his shoulder on a tackle of Braelon Allen.

Justin Fields threw three passes for 42 yards on New York's first drive before scrambling on third-and-5 for a 13-yard touchdown to put the Jets ahead 7-0 with 8 minutes, 44 seconds left in the first quarter.

Rookie first-round pickMatthew Goldengave the Packers a jolt on the second series, catching a 7-yard slant on third-and-7 and then drawing a defensive pass interference call from Sauce Gardner on third-and-6 to move the ball to midfield.

Green Bay was forced to punt after Tufele sacked Love for a loss of three yards on third-and-4. Whelan's punt traveled 46 yards to the Jets' 6-yard line.

The Packers pulled their defensive starters after the first series. The first quarter ended with the Jets at the Green Bay 34-yard line.
